Janet Pidoux  S.W.A.  S.O.F.A.

I was born in Penn, Buckinghamshire, where I still live today. I have been painting now for over twenty-five years, starting with watercolour miniatures of wildlife and flowers, but finally settling on pastel as I love the soft effect which can be achieved in this medium. I enjoy painting most subjects, my favourite being feline art which often features my own cats. My aim is to capture their individual personalities and give them a life of their own.

In 1992 I was invited to become a member of the Society of Women Artists and in 1997 a member of the Society of Feline Artists. I have also exhibited with the Pastel Society and the Society of Wildlife Artists, both at the Mall Galleries in London. In September 2006 I was given the Llewellyn Alexander Award for an outstanding set of feline paintings at the annual London exhibition for the Society of Feline Artists. In 2008 I was one of many cat-loving artists and celebrities to contribute a picture to a new book published by the Feline Advisory Bureau called Essential Cattitude: An Insight Into the Feline World.

My work can be found in numerous private collections worldwide and has been reproduced on many occasions for the print market. More recently I have been working with merchandising companies to produce feline images for their products, including tins for Elite Giftboxes, mugs and stationary for Padblocks and feline mugs for Dunoon. I happily accept commissions.
